About the project

This unique “courtyard” backyard was a long time in the making. When this client purchased a historical home dubbed the “New American Home” designed by Robert A.M. Stern, they knew that their idea of building a family pool in the backyard would have to ensure every detail was thought out so the end result would blend perfectly with the home. The shape of the pool is a mix of traditional styling, but with a spa that adds in some contrast with a unique shape. The mix of old brick from the pre-existing courtyard mixed with the silver travertine perfectly accentuates the home design and the unique glass tile on the raised beams brings it all together.
